What motivated you to co-found GLC Abogados?

After completing my master in Commercial Law at the University of Arizona, United States in 2008, I came back to Costa Rica to put my acquired knowledge and experiences into practice. Along with my partner, GLC was created in March 2010 with the intention to establish a legal firm that were capable of providing the best legal results to its clients with professionalism, ethics and always having in mind the concept of customer service. I wanted to found a legal firm that promotes the young talent of Costa Rican lawyers and becomes an inspiration in order to bring other lawyers with the same ideals to our project.

Practice Areas

Currently I help clients on foreign investments. The majority of my clients come to Costa Rica to establish a new company, to invest in real estate or to invest in a company or business that is already running in the country. I advise them on areas such as commercial law, contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and litigations.

Because there are big cultural differences between countries, it is a personal challenge to clearly and directly present the best legal practices to my clients. I am aware that I represent Costa Rica when attending clients, thus I do it with great responsibility and passion.

What are the reasons that make GLC different and why do you believe in the law firm?

GLC law firm is different from other firms due to multiple reasons. To begin with, all phone calls and emails are answered. We answer in an organized and clear way. We let our clients know the steps to follow, deadlines, risks, and costs of our service. The client is the protagonist and he or she must clearly know the characteristics of the service he or she is paying for, and this starts with the first communication.

The cases that GLC law firm accepts are included in a software to follow up the work to be done from the beginning to the end. We call those cases “work orders” and they are assigned to a bilingual lawyer team within the firm. Our customer service department keeps an eye on these work orders and on every client’s comment. This is not common in most legal law firms in Costa Rica.

Hobbies, passion, aspirations, dreams…

In my spare time, I like to go to the beach or mountain to hike. I have climbed the Chirripo Hill several times and I enjoy so much the nature of my country. Besides, I like to run or to ride a bike. On my vacation time, I try to travel, to get to know other countries, and I pay close attention to people’s customs and cultures. All the good things that I observe, I bring them to GLC law firm.
