What motivated you to found GLC Abogados?

I founded GLC at the end of the last century after a fast stay in several traditional law firms, I quickly knew that it was not for me. I was able to see bad practices of some lawyers that were highly jeopardizing the country image and foreigners’ interests.

I was convinced that a firm created with the exclusive aim of protecting foreigners’ legal interests could make a difference and contribute somehow the local business environment.

That is why GLC was created, as an innovative project with constancy and which has gradually achieved its position in the competitive industry of legal services in Costa Rica.

Vision

My viewpoint is to see Law as a close and necessary ally for business development and that motivated me to make a crucial decision for my career and my life. After starting and not completing several Law postgraduate degrees, there was something that did not convince me and that is where I decided to take the less obvious path, so I enrolled in the Master of Global Management degree of Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, United States.

I remember that, at that time, there were thousands of lawyers with Law-related masters; however, few lawyers decided to try new horizons, especially to enroll in first world management postgraduate degrees.

I combined my experience in Law with my strengthened knowledge of management. I was convinced 100% that this was going to make the difference in the organization of an office and the big winner would be the client who would have a comfortable experience with our service. Today, I am proud of having made that decision.

What are the reasons that make GLC different and why do you believe in the Law firm?

The secret of GLC is that we work as a highly compact and well-trained team with simple yet effective processes, something that few firms in the country can achieve.

Hobbies, passion, aspirations, dreams…

My passion is the entrepreneurship and that is why I have ventured into different branches of business which have allowed me to understand the daily difficulties that entrepreneurs encounter. When I am not thinking or analyzing a new possible business, I like to ride a bike through the city, search on the Internet on unusual topics. I am particularly intrigued by the Asian culture, Chinese horoscope, Zhen, Feng Shui and others.

I dream about a developed Costa Rica in a smart way and a country that shows all its potential to the world.

My children have changed my life and they are my greatest treasure.
